Penelope is a cute fairytale with great actors. The storyline was no wheres near in depth or thought-provoking, but it was an adorable story all the same.

James McAvoy as Johnny/Max

I feel that they conveyed the ugliness of the myth fairly and the story kept true to it's characters. I absolutely loved James McAvoy as the main love interest. He was amazing. (Also, his style!?Love it! Total rogue.)


There isn't much to review on since this movie wasn't spectacular nor was is bad. It's a simple chick flick for those who love happy endings. (And no Kleenex boxes. ;) )

Tron: Legacy

Tron: Legacy is a masterpiece of digital technology.

I wanted to see this movie in theatres, especially in IMAX.  I was unable to do that. However, I was able to watch it on my nice big flat screen, on Blu-ray. I didn't expect for the digital awesomeness of it to be that GREAT.

The colours were amazing, the subtle hues of the costumes and buildings was lovely, and....there was so much more. It was like a computer nerd's eye candy; I kid you not. 

Beyond the fabulous technology Tron: Legacy encases, the story was great. It started with a clip from the original Tron, showing Sam's father leaving for work. And never coming back. It then fast forwards to modern day -- starting Tron: Legacy. We see ENCOM, a huge digital technology empire that was ruled by Sam's father. In this time we see Sam as a rebel kid of his twenties, trying to deny what's happened in his life. 

Garrett Hedlund

Then...he finds his father. In the game. The battle that ensues consists of epicness. It is a must see. 

Now, for the more girly fans of heart (like moi), Sam Flynn (Garret Hedlund) is the hottest thing to grace movie screens in a long while. 

Xavier Samuel

Step over Alex Pettyfer; Sam Flynn is now joining ranks with Xavier Samuels. (In my Book of Hottness.) So, if the story of Tron and it's digital amazingness isn't enough to get you to watch the movie, than Garrett Hedlund should be.

So what are you waiting for!? Go buy this movie! On Blu-ray! ('Cause it's the only way to do it.)

Harry Potter - Like a Horcrux

I am a complete Harry Potter fanatic to the point where all life stops if anything related comes on the TV or if I see stuff in a store. I become obsessed with the idea of living in that world, despite that it's pretty scary sometimes...

Anyway! This fan girlyness of mine has led to my discovery of a parody on the song Like a G6 by Far East Movement. This parody is called Like a Horcrux, and it will blow your mind! Check it out below: (Yes, the preview image looks creepy/weird, but it's hilarious!)

Planet 51

If you're looking for a fun, brainless movie; check out Planet 51. I was
happy to settle down to a movie where I didn't have to think about plots. I could just enjoy the show. Planet 51 was one such movie.

When Earth astronaut Capt. Chuck Baker (Dwayne Johnson) arrives on Planet 51 -- a world reminiscent of American suburbia circa 1950 -- he tries to avoid capture, recover his spaceship and make it home safely, all with the help of an empathetic little green being. Joe Stillman (Shrek) writes and Jorge Blanco directs this animated thrill ride that also features the vocal talents of Jessica Biel and Gary Oldman

 The animation in this movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it, though my family didn't care for the unrealistic-ness to it. I chalk it up to all being on an alien planet after all.

The story line is cute, funny, and nicely thought out. It's a great family movie! Though, that's all there really is to say about it. There isn't anything spectacular, besides it being another movie to rival Shrek's animation.

So, if you're into a funny, simply family movie, here's the one for you.

American Idol

Scotty McCreery - American Idol Top 24

American Idol. That hot, hip, talent seeking tv show. It's been running for 10, 11 years. I've watched it for about 6, that I can remember. I stopped watching it when Adam Lambert lost to Kris Allen. (Yes, Kris can play the guitar nicely and can sing okay. But he's far from Idol talent. Lambert owned. End of story.)

Season 10 has started, as I've been told by my loyal Idol-er; my mother. She likes the show, despite it's major let downs. So, the other night, she DVRed the Top 12 guys' performances and wanted to show me three of them. I moaned, I GROANED, and I whined. "Whhyyy?! I don't even like the cliche songs." "I've heard enough Hero to last my lifetime!"
Anyway, she wanted to show me three guys; a rocker dude who has turrets and stutters. However, he has none of that when performing. I had to admit,  that was pretty cool. He can sing too, but he's not my favourite. Then there was a gospel singer; the dude has some pipes. Definately not my favourite though.

Then on came, Scotty McCreery. She was fast forwarding to his part, and sorta went past him and I was like, "OOO. Now, he's cute. Who is he!?" Turns out, that's the other guy she wanted to show me. He's got the most adorable face, and I could swoon for him. And then he spoke...Oh my gosh, his voice. It was beautiful. Deep and clear. Gosh, he was amazing. If he was at my high school, I'd have a huge crush on him.

Anyway, he performs the Country song, "Letters from Home" by John Michael Montgomery. I was raised on Country music, and I like it. I don't listen to it all the time, but I don't mind it every now and again. I was in the mood for it luckily, when Scotty performed.
Good Lord, I wish I had heard it the night of the show, beacause I would have voted.

So, to say that I now have a new celeb. guy to squeel over, would put it mildly. I mean, c'mon...just look at 'im! :D (And I really hope he performs a Josh Turner song!)
