Going on a Break.....Sorta

Hi guys! So, as yesterday's post told you, I'll be on a week long vacation. This post was (or is since I'm making it now...>.>)  set up a couple days ago, so by the time you're reading this, I shall be on the road making stops in Irvine, Tustin, Newport Beach, Buena Park, and then finally Anaheim, Ca. It will be a LONG day. I will not be back until very late August 21st, and then I start school at 7am on the 22nd. This being my Senior year...it will be crazy. So, I will be extending my break until August 26th. I will return August 27th.

But, what about that 'sorta' part in the title of this post? Well, I'm hoping to still update occasionally. I'll probably have the WoWs and the TT posts and maybe a review here and there. However, nothing special since I'm relaxing for the most part. Oh, and grabbing some goodies (hopefully!) for you guys at the D23 Expo next weekend.

So, I hope you won't miss me too much and that you will still be entertained by my smiling Sporks on the homepage! :D

Have a fantastic whats-left-of-your summer! It's gone by way too fast.

Birthday and Liebster Blog Award!

http://www.laavenue.com/aroundtown1/medieval1.jpgHi guys! Well, today is August 13th and at 9:18 a.m I will be turning one year older! :D Yes, that's right! Today's mah BIRFDAY! (Yes...birfday.) I'm excited since I shall be celebrating (tomorrow) at the wonderful Medieval Times in Buena Park, Ca. followed by a week long vacation at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa -- with full access to both parks, World of Color, and two dining experiences ( fine dining and picnics!).

ALSO, I will be attending the annual D23 Expo (19th, 20th, & 21st)! There will be stars from Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, and Tron! As well as many Disney authors! The talented Dave Berry will be there (author http://whatsupwiththemouse.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/d23-expo.jpgof Peter and the Starcatchers series) as well as the wonderful Dick Van Dyke. More celebrities and important people are supposed to be there but Disney isn't saying who. I shall post pictures, and if I manage to wrangle any books (signed or other wise) there might be some pretty awesome giveaways on here! :D

Anyway, I also thought today was a good day to let you all know that I was nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by Coranne @ Short and Sweet! Thanks so much, Coranne! I am SO happy to have received this.

Folllow Friday (7)

It's Friday again, and you know what that means...;D

This Friday's feature is Jake @ Teen Fiction Centre on Parajunkee's blog and Steph @ Steph Likes Books on Alison Can Read's blog!

Q. How has your reading habits changed since you were a teen? or If you are still a teen what new genres are you in love with currently?

I'm still a teen, so I shall be answering the second question. As for new genres? Hmm. Paranormal. I didn't use to be a fan of it at all, but I've been reading some really good stories involving them, including the recent Sisters Red.

What book did YOU pick?

Pottermore

Pottermore is a new place for Harry Potter fans to congregate and celebrate everything Harry Potter beyond the life time of the series. It's a place to read new things about the story and characters that only Rowling knows. A place to officially be sorted into a Hogwarts House. A place to be a crazy fan-gril. Or fan-boy.

And Pottermore was hosting an early entry period  where they would give out a clue a day for seven days; July 13st to August 6th. The clues would be in descending order of difficulty and they would be at a different time everyday. The goal? Answer the question and find The Magical Quill.
So, being the crazy Harry Potter fan I am, I stayed up all night, every night, for a chance to find the clue and the quill. Can you imagine the size of those bags under my eyes!? Craziness!
I finally struck gold on Day Five, when I had stayed up starting at 3 am until 10:40, when the clue was posted. Is it just me, or does it seem that every time you have something SUPER important and time-sensitive, that your internet all of a sudden moves UBER slow!? Mine does. I like to imagine throwing rocks at my computer, as if it would be afraid of my mightiness. Anywhoo, the CLUE. I refreshed the page for the bajillionth time and THERE. IT. WAS.
"What is the house number of Grimmauld Place? Multiply by 21."
OMG. Easy breezy! So, I used my amazing magical math helper (the calculator), found the answer (252), and set off to find the magical quill! But it was hard to find. It was hidden as an ad on the top of the page! I've learned to tune ads out after the eight years I've been on a computer. Who looks there!? (That's the point. D:) So I found it, clicked it...and TA-DAH! My agonizing wait was over and my head fell into the keyboard from sheer exhaustion.

After registering and validating the account, I became an official member and Beta tester of Pottermore!

I now go by the name of MahoganyLeviosa9. Are YOU a member? If so, what is your wizard name!?
